Paul Auster's City of Glass
This is a crime story mixed with surrealism, which is a very weird combination. Psychology definitely plays a big role in any crime story, but this book takes it on a totally different level.
This is the graphic novel adaptation of the novel by Paul Auster. The art by Mazzuchelli is amazing, he conveys the characters emotions with ease and creates the surrealistic sequences effectively.
At first I was a little bit lost as to the nature of this story. The surrealistic sequences were throwing me off and I was having problems deciphering them. But in the end it didn't really matter. What's important is Daniel Quinn's life and what he ends up being obsessed about.
This is a very different crime story, but it is still a crime story, and a good one. If you haven't heard of this book, give it a try.
