Mouse Guard Volume One: Fall 1152
Unfortunately I must say I wasn't blown away as I was hoping I would be. This is an all ages book about mice, however it didn't appeal to my sensibilities. I felt it was too cute and simple, and I just didn't enjoy this too much.
The format is different from the typical comic book, this book is square. It allows Petersen to draw beautiful scenery and detailed shapes. I certainly do like his art, including the colors.
But the story just didn't grab me and the characters were not very well developed. I could hardly remember each mouse's characteristics.
I am sure this would appeal to a lot of kids and adults, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. Great art though.

I haven't read it myself, so I'm not sure what she likes about it, but I suspect it has something to do with childhood nostalgia over the film The Secret of Nimh. Either way, I've heard good things from various sources about the comic, so I would assume in the very least that it's a perfect something for children.
